Community festivals and events
We had such a great response to the No New Coal petition at the Cruelty Free Festival, and in spring there are so many street festivals and events that we decided to concentrate our efforts on stalls at community events, and to organise one big day of stalls in local shopping centres and shopping strips.
So far, we've held stalls at
We are organising teams of volunteers to take the No New Coal campaign to the Beaufort St festival in Highgate and Mt Lawley, and Jacaranda Festival in Applecross, both on Saturday November 27th.
And of course we'll be attending the Protect the Kimberley community rally to show our opposition to the gas hub at James Price Point and the government's threat to compulsorily acquire Aboriginal land, on November 28th.
If you can help out at any of these, please contact Ben on 0400 878322 or ben.peterson.fl@gmail.com.
And on Saturday 20th November Safe Climate Perth is hitting the streets! We are currently calling out for volunteers for street teams to go petitioning. No experience necessary - all we are calling on is for people who are willing to help out!
We can get petitions and leaflets out to you, and put you in touch with other petitioners so you won't be on your own. All we're asking for is anyone with any time free on Saturday the 20th to come lend a land and be part of the movement that's going to prevent run-away climate change!
We hope to have as many places, shopping centers, suburbs, local parks streets and even beaches as possible covered, so if you can help out let us know!
To find out where your nearest petitioning place will be, and how to help out, just contact Ben on 0400 878 322 or ben.peterson.fl@gmail.com.
