Safe Climate launches coal campaign

Around 40 people participated in the launch of No New Coal campaign by Safe Climate Perth. The launch took place in blustery conditions on October 10 as part of the 350.org international day of action.

The centrepiece of the campaign is an effort to get 10,000 signatures in ten weeks on a petition opposing new coal developments in WA.

In addition, there will be ten actions in ten weeks as part of the campaign including letters to newspapers and a major rally in December.

Speakers at the launch included ALP member for Gosnells Chris Tallentire who said he looked forward to supporting our campaign.
