International climate talks have been held in Cancun, Mexico, from November 29 - December 10. Their failure to solve the climate crisis means it is up to people of the world to build momentum for change. This rally will give people in WA the chance to show that we are ready to take the first essential steps to stop the escalation of our greenhouse gas pollution and begin the transition to a socially and ecologically sustainable economy.

Demand

• no new coal mines (Margaret River, Fitzroy River or anywhere else in WA)
  
• no new coal-fired power stations - cancel approval for the 5 new/refurbished coal-fired power stations (Muja A&B and Bluewaters 3&4 in Collie, and Coolimba near Eneabba);
• no new coal infrastructure (dedicated port/rail facilities) or other coal projects;
• Verve Energy to use only renewable energy sources to supply new power needs;
• public funding to roll out renewable energy infrastructure (including wind and concentrating solar thermal); and
  
• guarantee work with equivalent pay and conditions for all workers in the coal industry in the transition to renewable energy.
