Climate change lobbying
Are you concerned about climate change? Are you trying to lobby decision makers (politicians, local councilors, public servants)? Are you having a hard time knowing who to call or what is the most effective way to lobby?
The Conservation Council WA will be holding four free workshops to improve your lobbying skills for climate change action.
Workshops on Climate Change will be held by Giz Watson MLC and Lynn MacLaren MLC:
Workshop 1 - Saturday 18th July:
Giz Watson, 2 – 4pm, City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth;
Workshop 2 - Tuesday 28th July:
Giz Watson, 6 – 8pm, City West Lotteries House, 2 Delhi Street, West Perth; and
Workshop 3 - Thursday 30th July:
Lynn MacLaren, 6-8pm, 29 Adelaide St, Fremantle.
These workshops will include information on:
- Who to target;
- Letter writing;
- Role playing a face-to-face meeting; and
- Other lobbying strategies.
Also, an All-day Lobbying Workshop (Climate Change & other topics) will be held by Lynn MacLaren MLC:
Workshop 4 - Saturday 1st August:
10am-4pm, The Meeting Place, 245 South Terrace, South Fremantle.
This workshop aims to equip all campaigners with an understanding of how to identify who to lobby, by providing a basic understanding of government and developing a range of lobbying skills.
