Perth Voice reports on Billionaires for Coal

The Perth Voice newspaper has reported on the Billionaires for Coal action under the headline "Perth pollution protest lampoons PM".

"Environmental groups held a tongue in cheek protest at Woodside plaza last Tuesday, posing as 'billionaire carbon fuel polluters' in love with the Rudd government's proposed Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme (CPRS)," reported the paper.

The report was accompanied by a large photo showing a mock Kevin Rudd handing over a cheque for $16.4 billion dollars to some of Australia's largest polluters.

Kamala Emanuel of Safe Climate told the paper that "we wanted to draw attention to the fact that the scheme won't reduce Australia's domestic greenhouse gas emissions, but will subsidise the biggest polluters".
