Introduction to Friends of the Earth (FoE)
Tuesday 9 March 2010
6.30PM-9.00PM, La Tropicana, 177 High Street, Fremantle
Join Friends of the Earth National Liaison Officer, Natalie Lowrey and local community to talk about building a Friends of the Earth local group in Fremantle.
WHO ARE FRIENDS OF THE EARTH?
Friends of the Earth Australia is a federation of autonomous local groups who are working towards an environmentally sustainable and socially equitable future. FoE Australia sees that pursuing environmental protection is inseparable from broader social concerns, and as a result uses an environmental justice perspective in its campaigning. A strong social perspective means FoE is well placed to develop alliances at the grassroots level with other organisations and communities.

FoE is the Australian member of Friends of the Earth International (FoEI). FoEI is the world's largest grassroots environmental network, uniting over 70 national member groups and some 5,000 local activist groups on every continent. With over 2 million members and supporters around the world, we campaign on today's most urgent environmental and social issues. We challenge the current model of economic and corporate globalisation, and promote solutions that will help to create environmentally sustainable and socially just societies.
