Walk Against Warming - Walk Against Coal WA

Sunday 15th August, Fremantle Esplanade

Around Australia, Walk Against Warming will be held the week before the federal election, on Sunday August 15, to put the pressure on our political leaders to:

  • Make the polluters pay by putting a price on carbon
  • Replace our most polluting power stations with clean energy
  • Create new clean jobs and industries
  • Guarantee to cut pollution over the next term of government
  • Support poor and vulnerable countries to tackle the impacts of climate change and invest in sustainable development.
The Walk will give people from around WA the chance to show our support for renewable energy, not the planned expansion of coal. WA has vast renewable energy resources - solar, wind, wave and geothermal. Let us develop these instead of proceeding with the planned expansion of coal-fired power stations.

Safe Climate Perth will be organising a contingent to take part, and we'd like to ask you to join the Walk and let your friends know about it. Together, let's make it impossible for those who say they lead us to take us down the climate nightmare dead end. We need a renewable energy future and the Walk is a step in building the political momentum to get there.
